Idaho Counties Set Early Voting Dates for November Election

Early in-person voting for the November 3 general election begins this week in several Idaho counties, with start dates varying by jurisdiction.

State law grants individual counties the authority to decide whether to offer early voting and to establish their own commencement schedules. Consequently, voters across the state’s 44 counties face different timelines for casting ballots before Election Day.

Twin Falls and Bannock counties are among the first to open their doors, beginning early voting on Tuesday. Voters in Ada, Bonneville, Canyon, and Kootenai counties must wait until October 19 to begin casting early ballots.

All early voting periods across Idaho conclude by 5 p.m. on October 30. This deadline applies uniformly regardless of when a specific county begins its early voting window.

For those preferring to vote by mail, the deadline to request an absentee ballot is the end of the day on October 23. Some counties that do not offer traditional early voting still provide in-person absentee voting options for residents.
