Dameon Groves Seeks Shoshone County Commissioner Seat

Groves is a fourth-generation Silver Valley native and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He is also a certified instructor, holds Idaho POST certification, and currently works as a police officer.

His professional background includes law enforcement, budget oversight and Idaho law. He has completed specialized instruction in Idaho state statutes, emergency management and public safety administration.

Groves says he would seek to reduce the tax burden during his first year by streamlining solid waste operations and lowering associated fees. He also plans to review county spending for greater efficiency.

Public safety is another priority for Groves, who supports fully funded and efficient operations. He also says he would bring an open-door policy to the courthouse.

“I will ask the tough questions about our budget that have gone unasked for too long,” Groves said.

He also described accessibility as part of the commissioner’s role, saying, “Representation means being a visible, accessible voice for District 1.”
